ChatterArtist – February 2008

Greetings Everyone! Here is the ChatterBulletin for February 2008.?There’s not too many events going on this month apart from my computer dying and it’s too cold to be going outside anyway! So now is a good time to be working on your website and planning your marketing and promotions for the year.

And that, of course, is exactly what I can help you with!?https://chatterboxenterprises.comhttp://chatterblog.chatterboxenterprises.com

As we celebrate Black History Month, don’t forget to indulge in lots of chocolate on Valentine’s Day!

All donations welcome,

Louisa

Introducing Client of the Month- Brett Beyer

Brett is a consulting client of mine in New York who has been working very hard on building his portfolio and his business since we first met. So I’m making him “Client of the Month” for winning his award in a “green design project” recently. Check it out: http://www.designgreenproject.org/winners/2008/photography.html

About the awarded project: “It’s a green design project that gives out awards in art, fashion, design, print and packaging,” Brett says. “I won the photo award for a series of photos I did that aimed to ‘make green energy cool.’ I used compact fluorescent bulbs and windmills to show how green energy can power music and creativity.”

To further reward Brett for his hard work, he also won the liveBooks door prize at ASMP’s event at Calumet last week. Way to go Brett! We look forward to seeing the new liveBooks website but in the meantime check out his current site at: www.brettbeyer.com

Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures

Margo Pinkerton and her husband Arnie Zann are both clients and friends of mine. Besides shooting for a range of clients, they travel and teach throughout the year as well. Some of you might be interested in taking one of their wonderful photographic workshops. The testimonials on their website speak for themselves!

Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures is offering some wonderful digital photo workshops in 2008 which also include a printing element using Epson archival materials. Among their workshops are: “Cascades & Hot Springs of Virginia,”

“Maine Coast & Lighthouses,” “Wine Country of Bourgogne in France,” “Southwest’s Arches & Moab,” “Fall Foliage of Northern New England,” and “Lighthouses of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.” Check out the amazing comments written by BCPA alumni. While Margo and her partners may photograph during the workshops as well, their first commitment is always to the participants, and there are never more than six students per instructor. They go over work flow, critiques, in-camera composition, and learning how to produce consistent prints that match the computer screen. To find out more, go to http://www.BCphotoadventures.com
