ChatterQuote July 2012

This month’s quote comes from Princess Diana, a Cancer born on July 1st, 1961. And true to the nature of the Cancer, Diana was a truly devoted mother to her two sons, the princes William and Harry. One of the quotes I found from her was particularly interesting. We speak in astrological terms everyday, and for the most part, don’t even know it. The Moon rules the sign of Cancer, and the Moon is connected to our “moods” so notice her choice of words…

They say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but how about a compromise like moderately rich and just moody?

ChatterQuote June 2012

Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers, born June 8th, 1933

This month, I looked around to see if I could find a pair of famous Gemini twins to quote from, but to be honest, the list was pretty disappointing. Most obvious celebrity twins I found are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Geminis born June 13th, 1986 and co-founders of their multi-million dollar franchise known simply as The Olsen Twins. They may have lots of money, but memorable quotes were few and far between, so I decided to quote one of my favorite comediennes instead, Joan Rivers, a Gemini, born Joan Alexandra Molinksy on June 8th, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York.

ChatterQuote March 2012

Continuing with this month’s theme our quote this time naturally comes from a famous Pisces, Dr. Seuss, born March 2nd, 1904. Descended from German immigrants, Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American writer, poet and cartoonist, best known for his children’s books, which no doubt many of you will have read growing up. He published a total of 46 children’s books, each one infused with his imaginative characters and rhymes.

I like nonsense – it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope… and that enables you to laugh at all of life’s realities.

ChatterQuote February 2012

With so many great Aquarians to choose from for this month’s quote, coupled with my indecision, I decided to bring you, not one, not two, but three of them!

Our first quote comes from one of the greatest basketball players of all time, my lucky number 23, and a true Aquarian “Captain of the Ship”, Michael Jordan, who said:

Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation… I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed…  I realized that if I was going to achieve anything in life I had to be aggressive. I had to get out there and go for it… I know fear is an obstacle for some people, but it’s an illusion to me.

ChatterQuote January 2012

Way back when I was in college, I was introduced to a beautiful book called “The Prophet” by Khalil Gibran. It became “one of those precious books” and a mainstay in our family. My mother always had a copy by her bed and we asked our uncle to read a passage from the book at her funeral, which he did. Khalil Gibran was a Lebanese-American artist, poet and writer, who wrote many books, but “The Prophet” is perhaps his best known. It has been translated into more than forty languages and was one of the best-selling books of the twentieth century in the U.S.

ChatterQuote Holiday 2011

So this month, I was pondering which famous Sagittarius to quote and instead of one I decided to give you a few – besides, it was very hard to choose and according to my ChatterQuote rulebook, it’s my newsletter so I can have as many as I want! Each one demonstrates a specific Sagittarian aspect, and first up we have two musical legends, each one about as different from one another as you can get, and yet both have made their distinct and unique mark in musical history.

The Planet Jupiter rules Sagittarius, and it is Jupiter’s role to bring “wisdom” to our lives. We begin with legendary guitarists Jimi Hendrix, a Sagittarius, born November 27th, 1942, who even uses the very word “wisdom” when he said:

Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens… When the power of love conquers the love of power then the world will know peace.

ChatterQuote November 2011

Marie Curie, 1867 – 1934

This month, I’m sticking with the girls and bringing you a quote from a famous female Scorpio, Marie Sklodowska Curie, a Polish-French physicist-chemist, born November 7th, 1876. Her achievements include her pioneering research on radioactivity (a term coined by her), and the discovery of two new elements, polonium and radium. It was also under her personal direction that the world’s first studies were conducted into the treatment of neoplasms (“cancers”), using radioactive isotopes. She was the first female professor at the University of Paris, and the first person, let alone woman, to be honored with two Nobel Prizes, one in physics and the other in chemistry!

“Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.”
