ChatterTip of the Month November 2011

Tips for your “Private Parts”

I’m sure many of you have heard of the term “Private Parts” used to describe one’s genitals, reproductive or sexual organs. The sign of Scorpio rules over those intimate, personal or private parts, which is no big surprise really, because Scorpios are very sexual people to begin with, and they are also very secretive. Thus we associate “privacy” or “secrecy” to that region of the body (unless you are a nudist, of course!) It is generally not thought of as normal in our society to walk around exposing these private parts of our anatomy to all and sundry – instead they are reserved for intimate relations usually performed in private.

ChatterRecipe of the Month November 2011

Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup with Cheesy-Garlic Croutons

In case you hadn’t noticed, each month’s recipe is not only designed to be delicious, but it is also deliberately tied in with that month’s theme, and more specifically with the Astrological sign that rules over it. So for this month, I asked my teacher for some Scorpio food or ingredient suggestions, and as we talked, it all became very clear.

ChatterQuote November 2011

Marie Curie, 1867 – 1934

This month, I’m sticking with the girls and bringing you a quote from a famous female Scorpio, Marie Sklodowska Curie, a Polish-French physicist-chemist, born November 7th, 1876. Her achievements include her pioneering research on radioactivity (a term coined by her), and the discovery of two new elements, polonium and radium. It was also under her personal direction that the world’s first studies were conducted into the treatment of neoplasms (“cancers”), using radioactive isotopes. She was the first female professor at the University of Paris, and the first person, let alone woman, to be honored with two Nobel Prizes, one in physics and the other in chemistry!

“Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.”

Chris Buck – ChatterCorner November 2011

Be sure to check out my conversation with Canadian-born photographer Chris Buck, my latest article in PhotoServe’s Features section. The image we used for this article is from his “Isn’t” series, a collection of portraits of celebrity lookalikes, and this particular one is entitled “Paul Cooper isn’t Bill Gates.” And, the interesting part is that the real Bill Gates is a Scorpio, born October 28th, 1955. Doesn’t that tie in nicely with this month’s theme, eh? So check out the article by clicking on this link: Chris Buck October2011

ChatterArtists November 2011

So with this month being associated with the sign of Scorpio, doctors, researchers and surgeons, we are bringing you photographers who shoot for Healthcare. This work can range from simple portraiture, to documenting actual procedures and treatments, to more “lifestyle” imagery for health insurance, or pharmaceuticals.

Mark Segal

First up is Chicago-based advertising, panoramic & aerial photographer and friend Mark Segal who I’ve known for many years. Mark has literally traveled the world shooting for a variety of advertising, corporate, editorial and healthcare clients, in addition he co-founded the stock library Panoramic Images with his brother Doug, and some of you may recall we featured his company SkyPan International in a previous bulletin. From his website, “He produces images that are vital, powerful and expressive.”
