Chris Buck – ChatterCorner November 2011

Be sure to check out my conversation with Canadian-born photographer Chris Buck, my latest article in PhotoServe’s Features section. The image we used for this article is from his “Isn’t” series, a collection of portraits of celebrity lookalikes, and this particular one is entitled “Paul Cooper isn’t Bill Gates.” And, the interesting part is that the real Bill Gates is a Scorpio, born October 28th, 1955. Doesn’t that tie in nicely with this month’s theme, eh? So check out the article by clicking on this link: Chris Buck October2011

So with this month being associated with the sign of Scorpio, doctors, researchers and surgeons, we are bringing you photographers who shoot for Healthcare. This work can range from simple portraiture, to documenting actual procedures and treatments, to more “lifestyle” imagery for health insurance, or pharmaceuticals.

Mark Segal

First up is Chicago-based advertising, panoramic & aerial photographer and friend Mark Segal who I’ve known for many years. Mark has literally traveled the world shooting for a variety of advertising, corporate, editorial and healthcare clients, in addition he co-founded the stock library Panoramic Images with his brother Doug, and some of you may recall we featured his company SkyPan International in a previous bulletin. From his website, “He produces images that are vital, powerful and expressive.”

ChatterRecipe of the Month October 2011

Strawberry Scones

Libras are often known to have a sweet tooth, so I could have gone with yet another yummy desert this month, but one of Libra’s favorite things to eat happens to be strawberries, so when I found this recipe for Strawberry Scones in one of my Ina Garten “Barefoot Contessa” recipe books, it seemed a perfect fit. She says, “In a world where most scones are like hockey pucks, this (recipe) is light and moist. We use all kinds of fruit fillings, including raisins, fresh cranberries, and dried cherries (yum!). The key to flaky scones (pay attention now) is not to over-blend the butter.”
